Jon led our company after holding down just about every job we have working for his dad and our founder J.D. He and his family committed to transitioning our company from a closely held family company to a 100% ESOP structure in 2008. In his new role, he gets to share his experience, humor and wisdom with us, while getting to spend more time traveling with his wife and spoiling grandkids.
Brad joined our team in June of 1984 upon graduating from New Mexico State University, a fine institution of higher learning. He has worked through the ranks as estimator, project engineer, project supervisor, project manager, and area manager both in El Paso and Austin before coming to corporate. Promoted to the role of President and CEO in 2014, he drives our decision making on a daily basis. Brad is usually a level headed person with the exception of during NASCAR and elk-season. We also think under his leadership we may be the leading employer in the Southwest for graduates of a fine institution of learning, especially if they drive a certain brand of truck.
Bill, a University of Massachusetts, Amherst "Minute Man", joined us in 2006. Starting as our Area Manager in Houston, he was promoted to his current role in 2016. He is active in the MOLES and other national construction organizations. When he takes a break from the office, he’s out cooking, gardening and exploring the Hill Country with his family.
Al joined our team in October of 2001. A graduate of California State University at Long Beach he is a 49er to this day. Al follows all Californian sports teams, and we don’t hold it against him. A devoted family man, Al brings safety oriented leadership to our team. Alfonso has been a Project Manager, JV Construction Manager and the El Paso Area Manager before joining our Executive Team in Austin in 2016.
Kelly, a University of Texas ex came back to Austin from El Paso in May of 2002 to join the Abrams team. He has been instrumental in improving our retirement and insurance programs as well as assisting in the financial end of project development. Kelly also serves as the company's Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) of our Ethics Plan. When not counting beans, Kelly enjoys fishing and time off with his family at their cabin outside of Yellowstone Park.
Rick joined Abrams in October 1985. Educated in Highway Technologies in Kentucky, Rick earned his masters from the Abrams school of hard knocks. He worked his way through the ranks as Party Chief, Project Engineer, Project Manager and Area Manager in Dallas. Away from work he enjoys spending time with family and friends. Rick’s favorite hobby is competing in motorcycle rodeos on his Harley.
Mr. Zbranek is responsible for business development in the Central Texas Area. Steven joined the J.D. Abrams’s family in January 2000 and has gained his experience by working on some of the most diverse, complex and congested projects.
Steven holds a bachelor’s degree in Construction Science from Texas A&M University, Whoop! He lives in La Grange with his wife, their two children and their livestock out on the range. In his free time, Steven is an avid fisher and hunter, and enjoys cooking for large groups, restoring antique tractors and enjoying the outdoors.
Jesús (Chuy) Anguiano started working with Abrams in June of 1983. The lessons he learned in his first assignments led to him building infrastructures in Texas, Florida, Mississippi and Louisiana. His leadership style continuously emphasizes safety, quality, on-time performance and the growth of our employees as employee owners. His success in his past role as Project Manager led to his promotion to Area Manager in 2015. In his free time, he enjoys spending it with his wife, children and grandchildren. Although he has served Abrams in various capacities in several states, he still calls El Paso, Texas home. If you have a question on anything football, give Chuy a call.
Mr. Bryan Villas is President of Austin PreStress (APS), a subsidiary company of J. D. Abrams, LP. Bryan is a graduate of New Mexico State University. He joined Abrams in 1999, where he spent seven years in multiple roles in field operations. In May of 2006, Bryan changed his focus to mastering the PreStress industry and began working at APS. Over the past 10 years, Bryan focused on growing APS, while improving its operational efficiencies. In 2015, Bryan assumed the role of President of APS, where he currently oversees PreStress operations in both the Austin and El Paso markets. When not at work, Bryan enjoys spending time with his wife Kristen and their four children.
Amadeo is a Civil Engineering graduate from the University of Texas at Austin and is an avid Longhorn fan (think tailgating), who brings his vast experience in transportation management to our team at Abrams. Mr. Saenz joined the Abrams Team in 2011 soon after his retirement from the Texas Department of Transportation after almost 34 years of service where he worked himself up the career ladder from Engineering Assistant to District Engineer and finally Executive Director. He has also served as President of WASHTO as well as Chairman of ASHTO's Standing Committee on Highways and Board of Directors. He is a member of the University Of Texas Engineering Academy Of Distinguished Alumni and also served on the Texas A&M Texas Transportation Institute Advisory Council. When not in Austin, you can find Amadeo on the family ranch in Hebbronville.
Martin is a graduate of Iowa State University and started his career with Abrams in the summer of 1976. After a 15-year hiatus, he returned home in July of 1994. Martin took the lead in estimating in December of 2002 and is the primary contact for Abrams team tasked with building quality back log. In addition to the nightlife in Pflugerville, he especially enjoys music, reading and spending time with his wife, kids, and grandchildren.
When we split HR and Safety into different business units in 2009, Sandy joined us and took on the leadership of our HR group. With over 15 years of experience specializing in small to mid-size organizations providing guidance and leadership to executive teams and senior managers, she had an immediate impact. Her broad experience includes benefits, employee relations, payroll, talent acquisition and retention, wellness, compensation, safety, and compliance issues. She has experience in various industries including professional services, healthcare, insurance, government agencies, and not-for-profit organizations. An alumnus of New Mexico State University (do you see a trend yet?) she is a key component of our ability to uphold our Core Purpose. Her commitment to the health, wellbeing and safety of our Employee Owners is supported by her free time spent reading, gardening, and playing with her daughter.
